1. Data We Collect

Consentify.dev ("we", "our", "us") collects the following data to provide our cookie consent management service:

  • Account data: Email address, name, and authentication credentials when you sign up.
  • Consent events: When visitors interact with consent banners on your sites, we record the action taken (accept, reject, customize), selected categories, a hashed visitor identifier, country (derived from IP), and a one-way hash of the IP address. We never store raw IP addresses.
  • Site configuration: Domain names, banner settings, and consent categories you configure.
  • Usage data: Aggregated analytics about consent rates and banner interactions.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and maintain the consent management service.
  • To generate analytics dashboards showing consent rates and trends.
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • To send transactional emails (magic links, subscription updates).
  • To detect and prevent abuse of the service.

3. Data Retention

Consent event data is retained for as long as your account is active and for up to 3 years after account deletion to support compliance audit requirements. Aggregated analytics data (daily statistics) does not contain personal data and is retained indefinitely. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Consentify.dev:

  • Neon - Database hosting (PostgreSQL). Data stored in the US/EU region.
  • Vercel - Application hosting and CDN. Processes requests globally via edge network.
  • Resend - Transactional email delivery.
  • Polar - Payment processing and subscription management.
  • GitHub / Google - OAuth authentication providers (only if you choose to sign in via these providers).

5. Your Rights

Under GDPR (for EU/EEA residents) and CCPA (for California residents), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Export your data in a portable format.
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS), hashed IP addresses, secure session management, and access controls. We never store raw visitor IP addresses - only irreversible, salted hashes.
